HRH Elizabeth II

HRH Elizabeth II

21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022

As we learn of the sad news of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passing, the thoughts of the Parishioners of Wilburton are with the Royal Family as they grieve for their mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.

The Queen demonstrated extraordinary dedication and commitment to duty throughout her Reign and did so with a graceful strength and admirable determination.

She has dedicated her life to serving the nation since her Accession in 1952, as Royal Patron or President of over 600 charities, military associations, professional bodies, and public service organisations.

The Parish of Wilburton express their deepest condolence to his Majesty the King, Charles III, members of the Royal Family and the extended members of the Royal Household on the death of Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth ll.

This is a period of public grief when people who do not know each other come together to mourn a national figure who has been consistent throughout our lives and for whom we have collective affection despite not knowing her personally. A book of condolence has been opened at St Peter’s Church.

The United Kingdom will forever be grateful for all that she has done both at home and abroad.

May she rest in peace.
