John joined Wilburton in November 2021 and was voted Chair in May 2022. Having recently stepped down as director of a small local group of opticians, John felt he had the time to offer to his local community. John has worked as an optometrist for 20 years, including on charitable causes in Africa with Vision Aid Overseas, as an optometrist and glazing technician.
Since moving to Wilburton in 2015, John has started a family, he enjoys being part of the village community. He is looking forward to working with the Parishioners and Councillors, relishing the chance to help make Wilburton the best place it can be for the next generation. He is keen to improve the recreation opportunities and facilities in the village, as well as enhancing road safety measures on the busy A1123.
