Sunday Morning Family Service

Baptist_ServiceAt Wilburton Community Baptist Church we really enjoy our informal Sunday morning family services.

Baptist_ChildrenWe have live worship music and explore the Christian faith in a friendly and relaxed setting with sofas and real coffee!

The services start at 10.45am and generally last no more than an hour.

All ages are made very welcome and small children are not expected to be still or quiet.

We believe strongly that prayer can make a real difference in people’s lives and we actively pray for named individuals in the village – if you would like prayer for anyone close to you, please feel free to drop a note through the church letterbox.

Although we have a visiting speaker come in to share God’s word with us once a month, our church is somewhat unusual in that we don’t have a paid minister of our own. Church members share the responsibilities between themselves and use dvds and on-line materials to provide thought-provoking stimulus material instead of traditional sermons.

We hold Communion on the third Sunday of the month.

Cafe Church

Baptist_TeaCafe Church is open every Monday morning between 9 and 11am during term time. We serve fairly traded organic teas, coffee, cappuccinos and home baked cakes. There are newspapers and magazines available as well as toys & books for pre-school children. The relaxed & friendly atmosphere provides an ideal place to meet up with friends or come alone to make some new ones.

Free wi-fi access is now available to everyone at Café Church.

Once a month we are visited by Angel’s Touch mobile beauty salon – prices are very reasonable and treatments range from mini-manicures, pedicures and facials to full spray tans and massage.

A percentage of revenue is donated to Ely Food Bank which we support and are also a drop-off point for.

Messy Church

Baptist_Service2On the second Sunday of each month (except August) Messy Church is held at Wilburton Community Baptist Church. It is from 3pm to 5pm-ish and is attended by up to 80 members of all ages (0-83).

Each month there are various themed crafts activities, a story, YouTube clips and songs, as well as real coffee, sofas and a light tea provided.

Just turn up and enjoy – there is no need to book and no charge. Any donations made will go towards the cost of craft materials for future Messy Church events.
