For the last five years we have celebrated harvest by holding a barbecue in the church garden.
These have proved very popular occasions with as many as 200 people attending.
Many villagers contribute to the event by providing delicious salads and puddings for everyone to share.
Entrance is free although any donations made are given to local charities.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday 19th September from 4pm with food being served from 5pm.
Carols by Candlelight
Over the last few years our traditional carols by candlelight service has become an established part of the Christmas calendar in Wilburton.
The service consists of singing nine well known carols accompanied by the organ and nine readings of the nativity story read by local men from the village. Last Christmas children dressed up to create a nativity tableau and we even had a real baby Jesus – thank you Madeleine!
Seating is limited to 120 people.
This year’s event will be held on Sunday 20th December commencing with hot snacks and mulled wine at 5pm.
